Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời đức Phật trú tại vườn Cấp Cô Độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Hãy tu hành một pháp. Hãy quảng bá một pháp. Các ngươi sẽ thành tựu thần thông, loại bỏ các loạn tưởng, đạt được quả Sa-môn, tự thân đạt đến Niết-bàn. Một pháp ấy là gì? Đó là niệm sự chết. Hãy khéo tu hành. Hãy quảng bá. Các ngươi sẽ thành tựu thần thông, loại bỏ các loạn tưởng, đạt được quả Sa-môn, tự thân đạt đến Niết-bàn. Cho nên, các Tỳ-kheo, hãy tu hành một pháp, hãy quảng bá một pháp. Vì vậy, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy học điều này.”
Bấy giờ, các Tỳ-kheo sau khi nghe những gì Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.

Niệm Phật, Pháp, Thánh chúng,
Niệm giới, thí và thiên,
Niệm hưu tức, an-ban,
Niệm thân, chết cuối cùng.
聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨 T 0553b24園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「當修行一法，當廣 T 0553b25布一法；便成神通，除諸亂想，獲沙門果，自 T 0553b26致涅槃。云何為一法？所謂念死。當善修行， T 0553b27當廣演布，便成神通，去眾亂想，得沙門 T 0553b28果，自致涅槃。是故，諸比丘！當修行一法， T 0553b29當廣布一法。如是，諸比丘！當作是學。」

SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “One should cultivate one thing and disseminate one thing. Then, they will achieve spiritual knowledge, dispel their confused ideas, win the fruits of the ascetic, and bring about nirvāṇa themselves. What’s that one thing? It’s called recollecting death. One should cultivate and widely disseminate it. Then, they will achieve spiritual knowledge, dispel their confused ideas, win the fruits of the ascetic, and bring about nirvāṇa themselves.
SC 3“Therefore, monks, you should cultivate this one thing and widely disseminate this one thing. Thus, monks, should you train.”
SC 4When the monks heard what the Buddha taught, they rejoiced and approved.
Summary Verse
Recollection of the Buddha, Dharma, and noble Saṅgha;
Recollection of precepts, generosity, and gods;
Recollection of peace and breathing;
And recollection of the body and death are last.
