Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời đức Phật trú tại vườn Cấp Cô Độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, tại nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Hãy diệt một pháp, xa lìa một pháp, Ta sẽ xác chứng các ngươi thành A-na-hàm. Một pháp gì? Ngu si. Cho nên, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy diệt ngu si, Ta sẽ xác chứng các ngươi đắc A-na-hàm.”
Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn liền nói kệ này:
Bị nhiễm bởi ngu si,
Chúng sanh rơi đường dữ;
Siêng tu bỏ ngu si,
Liền thành A-na-hàm.
Các Tỳ-kheo sau khi nghe những gì Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨 T 0566b23園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「當滅一法，捨離一 T 0566b24法，我證汝等成阿那含。云何為一法？所謂 T 0566b25愚癡。是故，諸比丘！當滅愚癡，我與卿等 T 0566b26證阿那含。」
爾時，世尊便說此偈：

「愚癡之所染， 眾生墮惡趣； T 0566b28
當懃捨愚癡， 便成阿那含。」
T 0566b29爾時，諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0566c01 SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “If someone were to cease one thing, I’d bear witness that they’ve become a non-returner. What is that one thing? It’s delusion. Monks, you should cease delusion, then I’ll bear witness that you’ve become non-returners.”
SC 3The Buddha then spoke this verse:
“The stained of delusion
Makes sentient beings fall to bad destinies.
One should endeavor to abandon delusion,
Then they’ll become a non-returner.”
SC 4When the monks heard what the Buddha taught, they rejoiced and approved.
