Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời đức Phật trú tại vườn Cấp Cô Độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, nước Xá-vệ.
Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Có hai pháp này, mà bên trong tự tư duy, và chuyên tinh nhất ý lễ kính Như Lai. Thế nào là hai pháp? Một là trí tuệ, hai là diệt tận. Tỳ-kheo, đó gọi là bên trong tự tư duy, và chuyên tinh nhất ý lễ kính Như Lai. Như vậy, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy học điều này.”
Các Tỳ-kheo sau khi nghe những gì đức Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨 T 0577c14園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「有此二法，內自思 T 0577c15惟，專精一意，當禮如來。云何為二法？一為 T 0577c16智慧，二為滅盡。是謂，比丘！內自思惟，專精一 T 0577c17意，當禮如來。如是諸比丘！當作是學。」
爾時， T 0577c18諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0577c19 SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “There are two things that honor the Tathāgata when one contemplates and focuses on them single-mindedly. What are the two things? The first is wisdom, and the second is complete cessation. Monks, these things honor the Tathāgata when one contemplates and focuses on them single-mindedly. Thus, monks, you should train yourselves.”
SC 3When the monks heard what the Buddha taught, they rejoiced and approved.
