Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời, Phật ở tại vườn Cấp cô độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn nói với các Tỳ-kheo:
“Hôm nay Ta sẽ nói về các chủng loại sai biệt của giới. Hãy lắng nghe và suy nghĩ kỹ, Ta sẽ vì các ông mà nói.
“Thế nào là các giới? Nhãn giới, sắc giới, nhãn thức giới; nhĩ giới, thanh giới, nhĩ thức giới; tỷ giới, hương giới, tỷ thức giới; thiệt giới, vị giới, thiệt thức giới; thân giới, xúc giới, thân thức giới; ý giới, pháp giới, ý thức giới. Đó gọi là các thứ giới.”
Phật nói kinh này xong, các Tỳ-kheo nghe những gì Đức Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
如是我聞：
一時，佛住舍衛國祇樹給T 0115c28孤獨園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「我今當說種T 0115c29種諸界。諦聽，善思，當為汝說。云何為種種T 0116a01界？謂眼界、色界、眼識界，耳界、聲界、耳識界，鼻T 0116a02界、香界、鼻識界，舌界、味界、舌識界，身界、觸界、T 0116a03身識界，意界、法界、意識界，是名種種界。」
佛T 0116a04說是經已，諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0116a05 SC 1Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was dwelling in Śrāvastī, in the Jeta Grove, in Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park.
SC 2At that time, the Bhagavān said to the bhikṣus, “I will now speak of the various realms. Listen carefully and consider well, because I will tell you about them. What are the various realms? Namely, [1] the eye realm, [2] form realm, and [3] eye-consciousness realm; the [4] ear realm, [5] sound realm, and [6] ear-consciousness realm; the [7] nose realm, [8] scent realm, and [9] nose-consciousness realm; the [10] tongue realm, [11] flavor realm, and [12] tongue-consciousness realm; the [13] body realm, [14] contact realm, and [15] body-consciousness realm; the [16] thought realm, [17] dharma realm, and [18] thought-consciousness realm. These are called the various realms.”
SC 3After the Buddha had spoken this sūtra, the bhikṣus heard what the Buddha had said, and joyfully practiced in accordance.
