Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời đức Phật trú tại vườn Cấp Cô Độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, tại nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Có một người mà khi xuất hiện ở thế gian, thì tối tôn, tối thượng trên cả chư thiên, loài người, Ma, cùng Ma thiên, Sa-môn, Bà-la-môn, tối tôn không ai sánh bằng; đó là ruộng phước, bậc nhất đáng thừa sự, đáng tôn kính. Thế một người ấy là ai? Là Như Lai, bậc A-la-hán Chánh đẳng Chánh giác. Đó g̣ọi là một người mà khi xuất hiện ở thế gian, thì tối tôn, tối thượng, vượt qua chư thiên, loài người, A-tu-la, Ma cùng Ma thiên, Sa-môn, Bà-la-môn không ai sánh bằng; đó là ruộng phước bậc nhất, đáng thừa sự, đáng tôn kính. Cho nên, này các Tỳ-kheo, nên thường cúng dường Như Lai. Như vậy, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy học điều này.”
Các Tỳ-kheo sau khi nghe những gì Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨 T 0569b20園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「若有一人出現世 T 0569b21時，諸天、人民、魔及魔天、沙門、婆羅門，最尊最 T 0569b22上，無與等者，福田第一，可事可敬。云何為 T 0569b23一人？所謂多薩阿竭、阿羅呵、三耶三佛。是謂 T 0569b24一人出現世時，過諸天、人民、阿須倫、魔及魔 T 0569b25天、沙門、婆羅門上，最尊最上，無與等者，福田 T 0569b26第一，可事可敬。如是，諸比丘！常當供養 T 0569b27如來。如是，諸比丘！當作是學。」
爾時，諸比丘 T 0569b28聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0569b29 SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “Suppose one person appears in the world who’s the most honored, supreme, and unmatched among gods and humans, Māra and demonic gods, and ascetics and priests. Their the best field of merit that can be served and honored. Who is that one person? It’s the Tathāgata, Arhat, and Completely Awakened One. When this one person appears in the world, he’s the most honored, supreme, and unmatched among gods, humans, asuras, Māra and demonic gods, and ascetics and priests. He’s the best field of merit that can be served and honored.
SC 3“Therefore, monks, you should always support the Tathāgata. Thus, monks, you should train yourselves.”
SC 4When the monks who heard what the Buddha taught, they rejoiced and approved.
