Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời đức Phật trú tại vườn Cấp Cô Độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, tại nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Có một con người xuất hiện ở thế gian mà không có một ai bắt kịp, không thể bắt chước, đi một mình, không bạn lữ, không ai sánh ngang; chư thiên cùng loài người không ai có thể sánh kịp; nơi tín, giới, văn, thí, tuệ cũng không ai sánh kịp̣.
“Một con người ấy là ai? Đó là đức Như Lai, A-la-hán, Chánh đẳng giác.
“Đó gọi là một con người xuất hiện ở thế gian mà không có một ai bắt kịp, không thể bắt chước, đi một mình, không bạn lữ, không ai sánh ngang; chư thiên cùng loài người không ai có thể sánh kịp; người mà tín, giới, văn, thí, tuệ thảy đều đầy đủ.
“Cho nên các Tỳ-kheo, nên khởi lòng tin cung kính đối với Phật. Vì vậy, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy học điều này.”
Các Tỳ-kheo sau khi nghe những gì Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
Kệ tóm tắt:
Tu-luân, ích, một đường,
Ánh sáng cùng tối tăm;
Đạo phẩm, mất hẳn, tin,
Đông đúc, không ai bằng.
聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨 T 0561c25園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「若有一人出現於 T 0561c26世，無與等者，不可摸則，獨步無侶，無有 T 0561c27儔匹，諸天、人民無能及者，信、戒、聞、施、智慧，無 T 0561c28能及者。云何為一人？所謂多薩阿竭、阿羅呵、三 T 0561c29耶三佛。是謂一人出現於世，無與等者，不 T 0562a01可摸則，獨步無伴，無有儔匹，諸天、人民無 T 0562a02能及者，信、戒、聞、施、智慧，皆悉具足。是故，諸比 T 0562a03丘！當信敬於佛。如是，諸比丘！當作是學。」
爾 T 0562a04時，諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。

SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “There’s one person who appears in the world who’s unmatched by others, who can’t be imitated, who walks alone without a companion, and who has no peer. None among gods and humans can compare to him, nor does their belief, precepts, learning, generosity, or wisdom compare to his. Who is that one person? He’s called be the Tathāgata, Arhat, and Correctly and Perfectly Awakened One. He is known as the one person who appears in the world who’s unmatched by others, who can’t be imitated, who walks alone without a companion, and who has no peer. None among gods and humans can compare to him, for his belief, precepts, learning, generosity, and wisdom are all complete.
SC 3“Therefore, monks, you should pay respect to the Buddha. Thus, monks, you should train yourselves.”
SC 4When the monks heard what the Buddha taught, they rejoiced and approved.
