Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời, Phật trú trong vườn Lộc dã, Tiên nhân trú xứ, nước Ba-la-nại. Bấy giờ Thế Tôn bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Có bốn Thánh đế. Những gì là bốn? Đó là Khổ Thánh đế, Khổ tập Thánh đế, Khổ diệt Thánh đế, Khổ diệt đạo tích Thánh đế.”
Phật nói kinh này xong, các Tỳ-kheo nghe những gì Đức Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
如是我聞：
一時，佛住波羅［木＊奈］仙人住T 0104b02處鹿野苑中。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「有四聖T 0104b03諦。何等為四？謂苦聖諦、苦集聖諦、苦滅聖T 0104b04諦、苦滅道跡聖諦。」
佛說此經已，諸比丘聞T 0104b05佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0104b06SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at the Residence of Sages in the Deer Preserve of Bārāṇasī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “There are four noble truths. What are the four? They are the noble truth of suffering, the noble truth of suffering’s formation, the noble truth of suffering’s cessation, and the noble truth of the path to suffering’s cessation.
SC 3After the Buddha spoke this sūtra, the monks who heard what the Buddha taught rejoiced and approved.
