Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời, Phật ở tại vườn Cấp cô độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn nói với các Tỳ-kheo:
“Tất cả pháp dục cần phải đoạn trừ. Vậy, thế nào là tất cả pháp dục cần phải đoạn trừ? Mắt là tất cả pháp dục cần phải đoạn trừ. Sắc, nhãn thức và cảm thọ với khổ thọ, lạc thọ và phi khổ phi lạc thọ được cảm thọ bên trong phát sanh bởi nhân duyên nhãn xúc, chúng là tất cả pháp dục cần phải đoạn trừ. Đối với tai, mũi, lưỡi, thân, ý lại cũng như vậy.”
Phật nói kinh này xong, các Tỳ-kheo nghe những gì Đức Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
如是我聞：
一時，佛住舍衛國祇樹給T 0055b16孤獨園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「一切欲法應當T 0055b17斷。云何一切欲法應當斷？謂眼是一切欲法T 0055b18應當斷，若色、眼識、眼觸、眼觸因緣生受，內覺T 0055b19若苦、若樂、不苦不樂，彼一切欲法應當斷。耳、T 0055b20鼻、舌、身、意亦復如是。」
佛說此經已，諸比丘T 0055b21聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0055b22 Thus have I heard. At one time the Buddha was staying at Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s Park.
At that time the Blessed One said to the monks: “All things [related to] desire should be abandoned. What are all things [related to] desire that should be abandoned? That is, the eye is [one of] all the things [related to] desire that should be abandoned. Forms, eye-consciousness, eye-contact, and feeling arisen in dependence on eye-contact and experienced within, be it painful, pleasant, or neutral, all these things [related to] desire should be abandoned.
“The ear … the nose … the tongue … the body … the mind is also like that.”
When the Buddha had spoken this discourse, hearing what the Buddha had said the monks were delighted and received it respectfully.
