Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời, Phật ở tại vườn Cấp cô độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Thế Tôn nói với các Tỳ-kheo:
“Nay Ta sẽ vì các ông nói pháp hoại và bất hoại. Hãy lắng nghe và suy nghĩ kỹ, Ta sẽ vì các ông mà nói.
“Này các Tỳ-kheo, sắc là pháp hoại. Sắc kia diệt, Niết-bàn là pháp bất hoại. Thọ, tưởng, hành, thức là pháp hoại. Thức kia diệt, Niết-bàn, là pháp bất hoại.”
Phật nói kinh này xong, các Tỳ-kheo nghe những gì Đức Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
如是我聞：
一時，佛住舍衛國祇樹給孤T 0012b26獨園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「我今為汝說壞、T 0012b27不壞法。諦聽，善思，當為汝說。諸比丘！色是T 0012b28壞法，彼色滅涅槃是不壞法；受、想、行、識是壞T 0012b29法，彼識滅涅槃是不壞法。」
佛說此經已，諸T 0012c01比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
T 0012c02SC 1Thus have I heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “Now, I will discuss things that are destroyed and not destroyed. Listen closely, and consider it well. I will explain this for you.
SC 3“Monks, form is something destroyed, but the cessation and extinguishment of that form is not something that’s destroyed. Feeling … conception … volition … consciousness is something destroyed, but the cessation and extinguishment of that consciousness is not something that’s destroyed.”
SC 4After the Buddha spoke this sūtra, the monks who heard what the Buddha taught rejoiced and approved.
